6 last minute Christmas plans in Gloucestershire for the family

With Christmas creeping closer, you may be feeling more festive but don’t know where to start with booking events or where to go for Christmas fun. It’s not too far into December to find things to do, here we have a list of Christmassy events and things to do in Gloucestershire as our present to you.
Westonbirt enchanted Christmas
The beautiful woodland trail at Westonbirt has been lit up with all kinds of different colours and shapes for a magical walk. Elves are also working hard along the track and they need the youngsters help to save Christmas. If you're lucky, you might even see Santa as well!
The smell of fresh donuts and hot chocolate will be sure to get you in the festive mood. A small fair is also on the grounds with a ferris wheel and dodgem cars for that extra bit of excitement.

Timeslots every 10 minutes are available to book. The last remaining times are closer to 8pm and the last date available is 21st December.

Dick Wittington and his cat Tweedy at the Everyman Theatre
It's back again, Cheltenham's yearly pantomime performance and luckily tickets are still remaining, particularly in January. Follow Tweedy and his friends Fairy Bow Bells, Sarah the Cook and Alice Fitzwarren, can they take down the Queen Rat?
Filled with singing, dancing and jokes for the parents, this show is perfect for the whole family to have a laugh. Don't forget to grab a pot of ice cream in the break!

Tickets range from £24 for top price band and £5 for 4th price band. The last date to book is January 8th.

Gloucester Ice rink
Until January 2nd, the open air ice rink is back at Gloucester Quays! Wrap up warm, get your ice skates and get ready for some festive fun on the ice.
Afterwards, why not go for food in one of the waterside restaurants, or go shopping for last minute presents in the Quays. A trip to the ice rink is something you and the family can make into a whole day out to remember.

Cheltenham Christmas market
Cheltenham's Christmas market will be running from December 8th to the 24th. Independent companies will be selling gifts from print, jewelry, woodwork and much more.
The market will get you in the festive mood and is the perfect place to buy gifts made by local companies. Why not grab yourself a coffee and some sweet treats while you're there?
Extra information:
The market will be on the pedestrianised Promenade and long gardens in front of the Municipal Office.
It's free to browse the market stalls.

The flight before Christmas at Kemble Airport
This is an amazing immersive theatrical production on a jumbo jet! Start by passing through the naughty or nice security check-in with your very own North Pole Passport and boarding pass.
See Elves frantically wrapping presents and meet Fidget and Hazelnut the elves. There will then be so much more to do such as making your own gingerbread house and choosing your own teddy bear to take home. This is a once in a life time flight to be apart of.

Christmas Grotto at Webbs Garden Centre Cheltenham
Visit Santa in his cosy cabin and tell him what presents you want this Christmas. Children can get reindeer food ready for Christmas Eve, post letters for Santa and decorate a Gingerbread man.
When you walk into the garden centre itself you're blasted with Christmas cheer as the centre has been decorated beautifully. There're also many gifts available such as locally sourced food which would make the perfect present for a loved one.
